Welcome to SHORELINE CREATIONS! My name is Steve Hall and I want to "Thank you" for visiting our website today! I have been in the landscape industry for over 30 years. Most of those years were spent overseeing the care of commercial and residential landscapes. Some of these landscapes were newly planted and some of them were mature sites. My areas of responsibility to these landscapes have included the care and maintenance of irrigation systems, flower beds, trees, shrubs and turf areas along with designing and installing new landscape areas. Over the years I have gained a unique understanding of mature plant sizes, individual plant maintenance needs, soil requirements, plant placement (location, location, location!!!) and color considerations. All of these things are key when planning any new landscape. Let my experience help you get your new landscape off to a great start!
A word about Buffer Zones!!! In the Spring of 2002 I installed a Buffer Zone along 90' of my shoreline on Boulder Lake. Using native Minnesota perennial wildflowers and grasses I was able to create a beautiful and functional area along the shore that does so much good for lake water quality. I have been a good student of nature over the last six years and I have learned much about native plant materials from working with them. When planning plants for a Buffer Zone it is important to consider soil conditions, location (sunny or shady), flower color, bloom times, Fall color and habitat needs for animals among other things. Some of the pictures you find on this site were taken of my buffer zone in the Summers of 2006 and 2007. In the Fall of 2007 I added more area to my buffer zone. I planted 36 native Minnesota shrubs that will provide food and cover for the many animals that visit the shore. Below are two pictures of the completed addition.
